Save Dentistry in Knighton
Last September, Jane Dodds MS and local Councillor Corinna Kenyon-Wade were informed of the closure of ‘My Dentist’ in Knighton which left Knighton and Presteigne without any dental cover. Local NHS patients are being asked to go to Newtown, but there is currently no direct bus available.
With over 3,000 people on the NHS dental waiting list, Jane Dodds MS and David Chadwick MP are urging Powys Teaching Health Board to deploy the Mobile Dental Unit in Knighton to deliver vital check-ups and treatments right away.
It’s clear that Knighton also needs a permanent solution – either a new independent practice or Community Dental Services delivered at Knighton Hospital.
Both Jane Dodds MS and David Chadwick MP have already written to the PTHB to demand an assurance that Knighton will keep some sort of dental cover. However, local Liberal Democrats are also calling for firm action to protect local dental services for Knighton and are calling on the public to support their campaign.
Jane and David have launched the “Save Dentistry in Knighton” petition to make that happen.
Save Dentistry in Knighton
We, the undersigned, call on the Powys Teaching Health Board to continue to provide dental services in Knighton
